Ron’s eyes are red rimmed and his jaw is set and he won’t look at me.
Hermione left an hour ago, and he won’t tell me what happened.
Well, it’s obvious what happened; she broke up with him.
I put a beer on the table in front of him and sit down with the evening paper.
Ron sniffs and wipes his nose messily on his sleeve.
He raises it to his lips and swallows and I try hard to feel brotherly concern for him.
“What does she mean, I don’t put her first?” he demands. “Who else do I have?”
